Dr. Todd B. Kashdan is an associate professor of psychology and senior scientist at the Center for Consciousness and Transformation at George Mason University. For nearly 15 years he has been teaching college courses on the science of happiness and in 2010, received the Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year.

Art Taylor is an assistant professor of English at Mason, an alum of Mason’s MFA program in creative writing, and the marketing director for the university’s annual Fall for the Book Festival (www.fallforthebook.org or @fallforthebook on Twitter). He teaches advanced composition for business majors, literature classes with a crime fiction focus, and both fiction and creative nonfiction workshops for undergraduate writers.

Sarah Gabrial Smith is a 17-year-old freshman at Mason. She is originally from Chesapeake, Virginia. Sarah is a Global Affairs major, with a Global Governance concentration and a Japanese Studies minor. Her interests include dancing and seeing ballets. She takes part in Mason Declaration (Mason’s indoor color guard), Engineers for International Development, Model United Nations, and is a prospective Goodwill Ambassador for the Cherry Blossom Festival.
